How did you get started as an author?

One day, these characters and an idea for a story popped into my head. I grabbed a notebook and a pen...and my R.I.S.C. Series was born!

What was your first book?

Taking a Risk, Part One

How has your writing style developed?

Though, I’ve only published my first two books, I’ve already seen my writing style grow. I make every effort to write in a way that makes my readers feel they're a part of the story.

What are you writing about in the anthology?

My hero, Kole, is unexpectedly diagnosed with Relasping-remitting Multiple Sclerosis.

Why are you taking part in this anthology?

Not only does the Movember Foundation do so many, wonderful things, but this anthology has given me the opportunity to bring RRMS into the spotlight. My husband and I have a friend who was diagnosed with RRMS ten years ago, and saw the struggles he and his family initially faced. I wanted my hero to show readers how a young man can still go in to live a full and happy life, despite this particular challenge.

Why do you think it's important to spread the message of this anthology?

The Movember Foundation is invaluable, and we want as many people to know about it and support it as possible.

What is your favorite line from your manuscript?

“I protect people, baby. It’s not just what I do. It’s who I am. If I lose that, I don’t know what I’ll become.”

Did you research your story?

I did do research on RRMS. I wanted to ensure my story was as realistic as possible, and I didn’t want to misrepresent RRMS in any way.

Is there any one thing you have to have when writing?

Coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.

What influences your work?

So many things! Sometimes a simple word or phrase will spark an idea for a scene or stretch of dialogue between characters. A song actually inspired the creation of one of my Alpha Team characters! I’m like a sponge...always soaking up the world around me as I look for new ideas to help make my books the best they can be.

Who is your favourite author?

That is such a hard question to answer! I have so many “favorite” authors for many different reasons. If I absolutely had to narrow it down to just one, I’d have to say Cynthia Eden. She’s amazing, no matter what genre she writes.

Any book that holds a special place in your heart.

So many! Way too many to list! Lol
